July 2014. – Cruises are making an increasing contribution to the 

wealth of the country’s economy as a whole. According to Turisme de Barcelona’s 

latest figures, the financial impact of cruises on the Catalan capital totalled more than 

256 million euros in 2013. The actual figure, which beat a new historic record, is 

256.904.709 euros, almost 25 million euros more than the previous year (232.004.658 

euros).The sources of the data are the Tourist Survey which Turisme de Barcelona 

performs every year,as well as CLIA-Europeand Royal Caribbean.
